John 11:1-16 | The Death of Lazarus

Jesus is traveling to raise Lazarus from the dead, the brother of Mary and Martha his dear friends verse 4When Jesus received the message, He said, This sickness is not to end in death; but [on the contrary] it is to honor God and to promote His glory, that the Son of God may be glorified through (by) it. Jesus is foretelling of his raising Lazarus from the dead, because he tells them he will die of the sickness, for it will be for Gods glory.

Verses 11-12He said these things, and then added, Our friend Lazarus is at rest and sleeping; but I am going there that I may awaken him out of his sleep. The disciples answered, Lord, if he is sleeping, he will recover. They didn’t get it if he is sleeping then he is going to wake up, why we are going to a town where they tried to stone you before? Verses 14-15,So then Jesus told them plainly, Lazarus is dead, And for your sake I am glad that I was not there; it will help you to believe (to trust and rely on Me). However, let us go to him. There is something to be said for the fact that we believe by faith and not by sight. Could you imagine seeing all the miracles Jesus had and was to perform and not believing in who he was? I believe in miracles they just are worked out behind the scenes, mine was being taken out of the darkness I was in because I didn’t think I was going to survive. There are miracles that happen everyday sometimes we just need to open our eyes to see them.

My prayer for us today is to ask the God to open our eyes to the wonderful gifts and miracles that he places in our paths everyday.
